After I made my list I hung this list up on my bathroom mirror and also on my bedroom door. I wanted each day to see my reasons for changing my behavior this aided a lot since quitting smoking is a decision one has to make everyday. Once you stop smoking you have to foresee there will be times when you will slip but in the times past that I backslid, I just accepted failure and started smoking full steam ahead. This time if I backslid and bought a pack of cigarettes or smoked one I begged from a friend I allowed myself forgiveness for not being perfect and started right back up.
The instant I saw the bathroom scales go up I made sure to workout more and not to replace eating with smoking. I also rewarded myself by pampering myself with something I in most cases would not do for myself. When I pay attention to careful smoking control my cigarette use always goes down. I will not say that I do not think about smoking occasionally and perhaps always will but I also remind myself that what you save is both health and money. Your clothes do not smell like smoke your hair does not reek of smoke and you can better enjoy the food you eat. You can also put the hard cash you would have used for punching smokes into a saving account and watch it add up.
